As Senior Manager Procurement and Supply Chain Management at the Institute of Human Virology Nigeria (IHVN), Pharm. Nwadukwe Arinze provides technical support to strengthen the availability of health commodities for the Global Fund GC7 project implemented in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory. His work strengthens the supply chain process to reduce stockouts, lower costs and eliminate the wastage of health commodities.
Pharm. Arinze provides technical assistance to the Institute, implementing agencies, and the government on efficient distribution channels, procurement processes, and warehousing. He liaises with regulatory authorities for seamless health product importation while ensuring compliance with standard procurement, warehousing, distribution, and quality assurance practices.
Also under his purview is maintaining a Logistic Management Information System for health products, supply chain and monitoring performance indicators for commodities. His experience in drug logistics management information systems, supply chain management, marketing, warehousing, and distribution of health commodities spans more than 20 years. He has worked in organizations including Achieving Health Nigeria Initiative (AHNI), Axios Foundation Nigeria, Rights, Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconciliation Services, and Novartis Pharm Ltd.
He has a Bachelor of Pharmacy Degree from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife and has also earned a Master of Science Degree in International Management Health System Management from the University of Liverpool, United Kingdom. Pharm Arinze also has professional certifications in Procurement and Supply, Leadership and Management in Health, Project Management in Global Health, Change Management, health commodity management, and quantification.
He is happily married, and the family is blessed with three children.
