The International Research Center of Excellence (IRCE) at the Institute of Human Virology Nigeria (IHVN) has received a donation of diagnostic equipment from Sysmex for its research activities.
While receiving an XN-350 5 part Differential Haematology Analyser and Cyflow Analyser from Sysmex representatives in its Head Office in Abuja, IHVN Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Patrick Dakum, lauded the Institute’s long partnership with Sysmex.
“We appreciate your support for IRCE. We have various research activities that depend on hematology and CD4 results. This equipment, an upgrade from 3 part to 5 part haematology analyser, is an added advantage to our choices,” he said.
Dr. Dakum, who was represented by IHVN Assistant Director Laboratory Services, Mr. Abubakar Abdullahi, called for continued support for installation and maintenance of the Symex equipment.
At the brief ceremony to hand over the equipment, Sysmex-PHC Head of Operations in Nigeria, Mr. Bitrus Badung, stated that his organization will continue to support IHVN and other organizations providing diagnostic services for clinical work and research.
“We see IRCE as a novel step in medical and clinical research that will take Nigeria, West Africa and Africa to limelight. Sysmex is pleased to support and align with you in carrying out research at international standards,” he said.
